It is a craftsmen village which is situated only at a small distance from the main City. If you want to explore various Indian cultures & traditions, it is the best place to see as the gov. owned complex shows up the rural life of different villages of India like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, & Gujarat. Along with camel & horse rides, one can enjoy traditional music & dance here.

One of the major attractions here is an open amphitheater for providing the center stage to various art festivals organized in Udaipur. Visit the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, two museums near the shopping hub and also dine at the Shilpi restaurant.

Bagore Ki Haveli

Situated near Lake Pichola, it is the best place for all history, photography as well as architecture lovers. Constructed by the Prime Minster of Mewar, Amir Chand Badwa in the 18th century, later the Haveli became the home of Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore, and got its name as ‘Bagore Ki Haveli’.

See a theater show at the theatre ground & witness musical, folk dance shows. Present yourself to the shows which are organized in the evenings. Enjoy puppetry show while listening to folk tales. Also, you can easily shop here for souvenirs, handicrafts & other artworks.

Timings: Open on all days from 10 am-7 pm

Vintage Car Museum

Are you fond of vintage cars? Then, you must take a look at royal vintage cars at the classical Vintage Car Museum. Situated in the former state garage, there are about 22 vehicles in this royalty museum. Having a good collection of cars of the Maharaja, this is probably one of the unique places to visit in Udaipur. Inaugurated in the year 2000, people visit here to know more about the history of these vehicles. Surely, it will be a perfect day out for all those who love to admire the beauty of antique cars.

Saheliyon Ki Bari

Situated in the northern part of the City, this beautiful palace was constructed by Maharana Bhopal Singh for the maids who accompanied the Princess to Udaipur. As the name itself suggest, ‘the Garden of the Maidens’ or also called, Saheliyon Ki Bari is an orchard of maids. It was one of the places where they can dance & sing merrily while getting indulged in various recreational activities. The Garden is fully equipped with well-maintained marbles, elephants, kiosks, fountains, & a wonderful water pool.

Timings: All days from 8 am-9 pm

Ticket: 10 INR for Indians, 50 INR for outsiders

Haldighati-the battleground of Maharana Pratap & Raja Man Singh

In the Aravalli ranges, there’s a mountain pass that connects Pali & Rajsamand Lake in the City. It is the ancient place related to history where the battle of Haldighati between Maharana Pratap of Mewar & Raja Man Singh of Amber took place in 1576 AD. From then, the place got its name accordingly from the yellow sands of the surroundings, which gave it the name as it appears just like Haldi (turmeric).

Stories of Maharana Pratap’s strength are still told to children. This historical place always remains in the list of best places to visit in Udaipur for all those history enthusiasts.

Sheesh Mahal
