An artificial lake situated in the city of Rajasthan state in India, Anasagar Lake is at the heart of Ajmer city. This breathtaking lake is a magnificent lake that was built by Anaji Chauhan, grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan in 1135-1150 AD.
From the main city of Ajmer, it is around at a distance of about 13 km. One can spot an island in the middle of the lake.
This 800 years old manmade lake is one of the most popular lakes in Ajmer & also one of the largest lakes in India which is named after its founder during the 12th century. On the banks of the lake, there is a pleasant park, the Daulat Bagh which consists of marble pavilions erected up by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in the year 1637. Ana Sagar Lake is surrounded by Daulat Bagh Gardens & Khobra Behroon Temple which is the two most popular tourist attractions of Ajmer.

Spreading across 13km, the pond or the lake seizes the picturesque attraction of the city. Several attractions around the lake add to its charm. Some of which are Cine Mall, Naya Bazaar, Local Food at Dargah Bazaar, Shri Rangnath Swami Ji Temple, and many more.
Nasiya Jain Temple
Widely known as the ‘Red Temple’ because of its red sandstone, this temple was constructed in around 1864. There are many wooden figures (figure made of wood), detailed paintings & many gilts inside the temple which are related to Jain scriptures.

Best Time to visit
Between October & March is the best time to visit Ana Sagar Lake when the climate is pleasant & the lake’s water level is full because, in the scorching hot summer season, the water of the lake dries up completely due to extremely hot conditions.
TIMINGS: 8:00 am- 8:00 pm and is open on all 7 days of the week.

How to Reach Ana Sagar Lake
By Air: Presently, there is no closest airport to the lake but Sanganer Airport or Jaipur International Airport is located at a distance of about 135 km away to the city Ajmer.
By Rail: The nearest is 2 km away from Ajmer Railway Station from where one can either walk or take a rickshaw.
By Road: You can also hire a cab for reaching here easily if you’re coming from other parts of the city.
